Name: Malik Carter
Age: 17
Background: Chicago-born, raised in Madison, Wisconsin
Current City: Englewood (recently moved with his aunt)

đŸ§± Origins

Malik Carter never had it easy. Raised by a single mom who worked two jobs in a rundown apartment in Madison, Malik always saw the struggle. Food stamps, eviction threats, hand-me-downs—he learned early that the world wasn’t built for kids like him.

His father? Just a name on a jail record. His mom? She tried—but cancer don’t care about trying. When she passed, Malik was forced to move to Englewood to live with his aunt. A new city, same problems.

📚 Dropping Out

High school didn’t make sense to Malik. Teachers talking about “future careers” while his stomach growled. Kids clowning on his busted shoes while they pulled up in their daddy's foreign.
He wasn’t stupid—he was just tired of playing a rigged game.

After getting jumped outside the school by some locals for “looking soft,” Malik made his decision: school's out.

💾 Chasing Bread

Englewood wasn’t gentle. But it had opportunity. Malik linked up with a local corner boy named Tone, who showed him how the block moved—weed first, then harder stuff.
But Malik wanted more. He wasn’t about just holding down corners. He wanted to be a name. Someone who could bring money home. Someone who could change the game.

"Ain’t no scholarships where I’m from. Just street degrees."

đŸ”« Eyeing the Set

Tone introduced him to the local gang, The Eastside Jacks (or you can use a custom gang name from your server). They saw the hunger in Malik. The fire. He was raw—but teachable. Loyal.

Malik starts off doing lookout jobs, stash runs, maybe even boosting cars. Every dollar counts. He’s not trying to be a soldier forever though—he’s got plans.

🎯 Goals

  • Short Term: Get his own block, his own team.
  • Mid Term: Buy his aunt a car. Fix up her place.
  • Long Term: Either die rich or get out clean.

đŸŒȘ Conflict & Development

As he climbs, Malik starts to face real choices:

  • Does he stay loyal to the Jacks when the bigger crew offers more money?
  • Will he go full savage, or keep a code?
  • Can he protect his little cousin from following his path?
  • And what happens when the cops start watching him too closely?

đŸ§© RP Hooks

  • Rival gang sees Malik as a threat—tries to recruit or take him out.
  • A teacher or mentor from school reaches out, offering a way back.
  • A setup goes wrong, and Malik has to lay low.
  • He finds out the truth about his father’s past in Englewood.
